Cristina  Frias holds a MFA in  Acting from the Institute of CalArts and a BA in Sociology from U.C. Berkeley. She is a professional actor working in Theatre, Television and Film and currently, starring in Josefina Lopez's acclaimed hit comedy REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Cristina has been a Guest Lecturer and Adjunct Faculty at UCLA's Cesar Chavez Department of Chicana/o Studies, UCLA's Department of World Arts and Culture, Stanford University, the Institute of CalArts' School of Theatre,  AMDA: College and Conservatory of Performing Arts, Bates College and Ecole Supérieur de Sup de Pub in Paris, France.  She has created original theatre work with diverse Los Angeles' Arts Organizations and Schools.  She is  a  member  of  the  Los  Angeles Women’s  Shakespeare  Company  and her performances include work  with  the  South  Coast  Repertory  Theatre,  Mark Taper Forum,  Los  Angeles Philharmonic,  Kennedy  Center, Smithsonian Institution, Getty Villa, Boston Court Theatre, Will & Co., Shakespeare Center Los Angeles, San Francisco Mime Troupe, Cornerstone Theatre Co., Watts Village Theatre, CASA 0101 and Culture Clash.  She was a founding member of the seminal San Francisco Latina Theatre Lab and has developed and toured solo work in Europe, Africa and all over the United States. Cristina is also an acting coach offering individuals and organizations workshops that support their success in the creative field.
