Professor Eric Avila is featured in the new PBS film, Driving While Black: Race, Space and Mobility in America. Professor Avila lends his voice as a community activist and scholar. The film is defined as “a ground-breaking, two-hour documentary film by acclaimed historian Dr. Gretchen Sorin and Emmy-winning director Ric Burns, which examines the history of African Americans on the road from the early 1900s through the 1960s and beyond.”
