Dr. Celia Lacayo Interviews Students on Afro-Latino Identity
Dr. Celia Lacayo, Professor of Chicana/o Studies and African American Studies, celebrated Latinx Heritage Month by discussing the genesis of Chicano Studies 188-3: Afro Latinos, UCLA’s first Afro-Latinx student organization, and Afro-Latina identity. The discussion features an interview conducted by Dr. Lacayo with Brisa Smith Flores, a UCLA graduate student in World Arts and Culture, and Ky’tavia Stafford-Carreker, a recent UCLA pre-med graduate.
