25th Anniversary of Student Activism for Chicana and Chicano studies at UCLA
The UCLA César E. Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies invites people to join them for a symposium that will commemorate the 1993 faculty center sit-in and hunger strike and student efforts that led to the establishment of the César E. Chávez Center for Interdisciplinary Instruction in Chicana and Chicano Studies, which later became a department in 2005.
The event features UCLA alumni who were student leaders during the 1990s, a keynote address from José M. Aguilar-Hernández, visiting assistant professor, as well as a digital photo exhibit.
