UCLA Student Featured on LA Opinion

Fruit seller DACA graduates from UCLA Recent UCLA undergraduate student, Manuel Cruz, was featured on  LA Opinion.

His new dream is to become a lawyer specialized in migration and criminology. One day after graduating from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and hanging the cap and gown, Manuel Cruz started selling fresh fruit on the streets while stroking a new dream, going to law school to become Immigration and criminology lawyer.

“From the fruits he went out to pay a good part of my tuition, buy books , pay my bills and help my parents,” says the young graduate while arranging the containers of fresh fruit that he will sell that day in a corner of the streets of Saint Ana.

Still excited about the memory of his graduation in early July, he says he is the first of his family to go to college. “I hope I’m not the last one,” says Manuel, a member of a family of six where he is the youngest and the only male. He graduated from UCLA with a double degree in Chicano and Chicano and gender studies; and apart he made a specialty in labor studies.
