Maxwell Greenberg Selected for New Directions in Jewish Studies lectureship

Chicana/o and Central American Studies doctoral candidate, Maxwell Ezra Greenberg, has been selected for the New Directions in Jewish Studies lectureship at UC Davis. Greenberg’s dissertation research employs traditional archival methods to trace untraditional/de-centered histories: Jewish immigration, settlement and racialization in the US-Mexico border region between the late 19th – 20th centuries. Selected for one of the four lectureship positions, Greenberg will give a virtual public lecture titled, “A Palestine on the Pacific: Four Decades of Jewish Territorial Dreaming in Baja California” in Winter/Spring 2021. He will also lead an undergrad/graduate student seminar under the lectureship. Stay tuned for specific dates and please join us in offering your congratulations!
