The 17th annual Día de los Muertos celebration and ritual, a collaboration between UCLA and SPARC.
SPARC partners with Professor Martha Ramirez-Oropeza and over 100 UCLA students to honor the memories of those who have passed on. Students will build intricate altars that represent Día de los Muertos traditions of various regions of Mexico and Central America. Professor Ramirez-Oropeza will lead an invocation ritual in Nahuatl, Spanish and English that calls the spirits to join the celebration. Be a part of our ceremony by bringing a photograph of a loved one for our community altar.
There will be live performances and food available throughout the evening. Everyone is welcome!!
